67 mustang
It is likely a control cable for one of the following items:
1) Hot/cold mix door.
2) Vent/defrost door.
3) Inside/outside air door.
It is also possible it's the one to control the driver's side fresh air vent.
Although, I must admit, I'm basing this on a '66 Mustang's innards, and if the '67 has the integrated A/C, then the doors are probably different overall, but not by a whole lot.
Still... I'm wondering what the heck it's doin' up there in the first place...
Looks like it came off, and a PO tucked it away so it wouldn't hang down or something...
Hope that helps!

The "spring" fits over the end of a lever that moves a door. The bracket there is supposed to hold the outer part of the cable stationary, then the wire portion inside slides and moves the door it is attached to when you move the control lever on the dash. Bad grammar but I hope it makes sense.
Thanks for the help.
It does seem to go on the lever for the door to the vents, but very weird I only have one that seems to go across from driver left side to assembler right side.
I have the heater box etc all apart, trying to figure that one out!
Feel way over my head !
