66 v8 coupe auto project

Hi im a newbie and really could do with some pointers. I have recently bought a 66 v8 coupe auto that was part restored underneath with new floor plans etc. The car needs a new wire loom that was damaged under the dash (when the aircon was removed). It needs new rear wheel arches, surface rust on the other panels but solid metal. Needs a full interior to finish. Where do i start? bodywork, paint then inside or do i work inside out then paint last? i know this is a big job, but i need some good advice.
Thanks in advance.

Best advice you will hear comes from me, then. Yay and such.

Paint first. Period. Everything else will be sullied if you do it last.

Good luck, and welcome to the forums!

Hi houtex,
Thanks very much for the advice. Is it still possible to get original paint?

Well, original paint is not very good, you want the new, much better enamels and urethanes, whether it's single stage, 2 stage or even 3 stage. But yes, any good paint jobber will have codes back to '67. But you are NOT limited to that. You can pick virtually any color under the sun.

There are also online resources to match older car's paints if you desire to go back to, oh, original 1965-6 Emberglo with an Emberglo and Parchment Pony interior.

/always wanted that scheme.
//But went with '88 Mustang Oxford White with '66 T-Code red engine and compartment, interior, and trunk. on my '66. At the time, Delstar Poly Urethane Enamel, I wanna say, was the stuff we used. Pro paint. We had a huge compressor and dryer, though.
