Hi all--One of the small metal inserts in the wooden part of the wheel popped out. There is a screw underneath it and some glue residue. What should I use to put it back? Should I use really strong glue--will I ever need to get to that screw?

Gorilla glue?

Elmer's glue?

Wood glue?

Not sure exactly what you're talking about... Do you have a deluxe woodgrain wheel? And would you be referring to the "dots" that circle it perhaps? I've never seen an actual screw behind one of these dots; but when I loose one of them, I just stick it back on with a drop of SuperGlue.

Lucky you, I couldn't find the one that popped out of mine. The wheel now has one brown dot. I do have a set of hole punches, I keep looking at those empty beer cans I recycle. Something to try when I don't have another project.

That's exactly what I did to replace the missing dots on my wheel! They obviously aren't as bright, and they don't have that lillte divot in their center; but they look better than a blank spot!

I've used both beer cans and aluminum foil.

Glue? Whatever was handy.

Yup, the inserts on the deluxe woodgrain wheel. the one that popped out has a philips head screw behind it. I guess it anchors part of the wood grip through the metal wheel and into the grip on the back of the wheel.

Good idea with the beer cans, though!

I'll stick that stinker back in with some glue tonight before I loose the little metal stinker.
