66' Coupe Headliner
66' Coupe Headliner
I'm installing a new headliner in my 66 Coupe. The previous owner tried to restore the car & failed therefore I'm redoing everything. I'm curious about the bows/rods in the headliner. There's 3 that are very similar & 1 that has more depth/height. What order from front to back is the correct order?
The way it is now: 1st larger bow in front, then all same 3 going toward the back. Help??!!! Thx!

I am going to watch this closely. Shop that did mine messed up. There is less headroom than before. The one in front seems to be wrong now. Maybe based on what you said the longer one needs to be in the front. But I don't know.
That's the same problem mine had. The headliner was bowed down over the drivers seat, kept hitting my head on it getting in the car. I would think the headliner would follow the contour of the roof not away from it like all the pics I've seen
Got it... 3 same rods up front, 1 larger bow in back/last position. The problem w/my old headliner was the bows were inserted into the headliner upside down so the bow faced down (not w/the roof contour). I installed it last night, looks great!! Easy project too.
I'm sure it would take away a little bit of noise and there's room to do it but with the insulation pads that glue in I don't think it's necessary personally but the option is there if you decided to.
