'65 Wheel Fitment Question

Does anyone know whether the S197 18" Bullitt type wheels will fit on a '65 fastback with or without wheel inserts? I did do a search, but could not find the answer on here. Thanks.

I would not think so...I believe that the SN95 generation wheel will fit...but those wheels look kinda funny on the s197s...they stick out a lot...you will probably need to get some spacer for them to look right even if they do bolt right up.

...just a suggestion....please do not put 18s on you '65....IMO they are too big...17s only look right with the right suspension mods, and thats not that often...but hey...you never know...got any pics?

I just saw a set of adaptors from Natl Parts Depot (thumbing through their catalog)specifically to fit Bullitt or new Magnum style wheels, and quite possibly the other classic Mustang parts vendors have them too and maybe ebay. All its listed as is 'Late model wheel adaptors' It also recommends a negative camber kit. I hope that helps

As stated above there are options, the ones I have run across are for using 94-04 17" wheels.

Here is an adapter kit from karkraft.com

Well, I tried to fit the 18" bullitts to see if they fit and the backspacing is such that it hits the handbrake line and leaf springs, so it is a no go.
