65 wheel alternatives

Will 2006 GT wheels (17" x 8") fit on a 65 five lug car? If so, what size tire? Pictures? Will spacers be required? Thanks.

Tires might be a little tall if you go with stock size from that year. I'm not exactly sure on the spacer but it should be between 1"-1.5"

I have Torq-Thrust D wheels, 15x7 front with 15x8 rear (225/60/15 on all corners) and I get a little rub on heavy bumps in the road, but thats also because the car is lowered quite a bit. The previous owner told me he went through a few different set of wheels before he got it to look just right. I don't know if I have spacers, havent taken the wheels off yet.
