6 speed going into a 66 coupe

6 speed going into a 66 coupe

Im trying to find out what would I need to put a t56 6 speed behind the 347 in a coupe... has anyone gone through this already? Thanks for your help

Check out D&D transmission. Just google that. Probably will require a different bell housing. You should be able to also call them for more advise.

I'm wanting to do the same thing. The tremec magnum, try mustangs plus I think that have a jit

I did lots of research into it for doing something with my '70 transmission.

I am pretty sure you can't put a T56 in a classic Mustang without heavily modifying the frame and doing a custom transmission tunnel, and even then I don't think it would bolt up to the engine without a custom bellhousing (I am assuming your 347 is just a stroked 302 block...). The T5 5-speed, however, is pretty much a bolt-in modification.

CJ Pony Parts has a nice kit for it (with or without the transmission).
