302 Swap

As I asked about swapping my inline 6 with a 302, I was curious if anyone knows any good places to get a bell housing or at least what exactly I need to be searching for. I typed in 302 bell housing in Ebay, but not sure if the year or model of the car it came from will make a difference?

Also what would be the best carb to get for a 302 in a 65 Mustang?

If it will be your daily driver and you aren't going to have a tone of performance parts, the 600 range is where you wanna stay for your carb. Now the brand choice is up to you. As far as the bell housing goes, anything from a 65-81 will work just make sure it's the obvious 6 bolt. But along with the bell housing, there's an enormous parts list that must be changed if you decide to upgrade to the 302.

Water pump

Thanks for the years and carb size. That will be a big start.

Suspension.

Unless it's already a V8 setup, then ignore me. But the I6 suspension, while it may be ok, is not recommended because it's simply not meant for the extra weight of the V8.

If that's the car in the avatar...
