Hello, I have a 72 convertible with the 302 2v 2bbl. carb (stock). I am looking to make some performance upgrades to get some more power out of the motor. I am looking to replace cam, intake, carb, headers, port and polish heads (unless I should buy new ones) with out having to bore the cylinders. Does anyone have ideas of a good combination of parts to accomplish this? Also will I get a noticeable increase in hp or am I nuts for attempting? Thanks for the help in advance. Jason

Bolts on like this really boost horsepower...i'd go with an edelbrock intake, holley carb. I wouldnt go with just a huge cam, something in the mid range, too big and it has a hard time around the street. You might could buy better heads that are already port polished. Headers like hooker headers or shorty's for a 302 would be good. By the way, welcome to the site!

I am trying to stay around $1500.00 for the parts. My buddy owns a automotive shop so I am not paying labor to do the job.

Was wondering where you found the performance package? Was it on the edelbrock site or another site? Thanks!

I highly recomend a package such as the Edlebrock. Many mistakes are made trying to match up different parts esp with regaurds to cam and carbs. Stay with small tube headers if its a street car.
