302 or 351c?

I have a 1968 Mustang that the prior owner dropped 1972 351c in. It was originally a 302 car. I'm thinking of going back to a 302. Pros and cons? Any thoughts are appreciated.

This is my opinion. If they did a good job swapping it, I'd say keep it, as long as its running good. Your appearance mods look good and seems like the car should be fast. You'll have to spend some money on a 302 to get it to run like a 351c.

I had a 302 and swapped to a 351 and although it definitely has more power it is not as "peppy".

depends on what your doing with the car. if your showing it and it is being judged go back to stock. If your showing it and it is peoples choice keep it.
IF you don't show it do what you want.

leave the 351C, nice strong block slightly heaver than the windsor but better for higher revs. decent market for carb intakes and the cleveland makes decent torque. nice selection of heads out there for it, way to many ++'s to give up and go to 302. more cubes always good.

Small block = (usually) faster acceleration, lower rpms

Big block = (usually) slower acceleration, maximum potential rpms
Either way you go, there are upsides and down.

Keep the Cleveland. Much cooler option than a Windsor. Well built Cleveland will make lots of power and torque.
