The North Central Mustang Club is planning a "pony drive" to the Youngstown Ohio event in September. We'll be leaving from the Williamsport PA area. Anyone interested in meeting us there shoot me an email and I'll keep in touch. I'll also post more info on the regional forum later this summer.

It will be my first MCA grand national event, so I'm really looking forward to it. But $50 bucks!
I'll have to save my allowance all summer  (I'm married...)

I haven't been to a grand national event, but the regional event last year in Biloxi was excellent. What a fun time.

I can't believe that the KC show is having a pedal car show and I can't get there!

<Shakes fist at sky> darn YOU WORK! You are interfearing with my car shows YET AGAIN!

The show is Biloxi was crap. The turnout was horrible and the show was managed like an 8th grade dance. If you were impressed by that, a Grand National will be like the Pearly Gates have opened.

All of our people from LA had a good time, including those who just got back from the 40th in Nashville. What was wrong with it? (Granted, the awards ceremony was too, too long, but that wasn't that bad.)

It was nice to be in the AC!

Holding the cars in place until late in the last day was a bummer as those of us with a drive had to hoof it in late or pay to stay another day.

I think there were 214 cars there, which is the smallest MCA National I've ever been to. I've never had to pay for parking AND admission to the show. And if you wanted to leave the show to eat, you had to pay AGAIN to get in. The show didn't open until noon on Saturday, but they let people in around 8, but kicked them out and made them pay. I didn't show a car or stick around for the awards, but from a spectator's standpoint, it was a wasted trip.

Hmmmm. I didn't know that we all went in and stayed put. How many cars the shows usually draw?

I take it that there won't be a regional show there again?

MCA got a lot of complaints about that show; I don't think they'll get another one for a while.

There have been at least 275--sometimes as many as 350--Mustangs at the National Shows I've been to.

Paul, you need to go to the Gulf Coast Regional MCA Show in Pensacola March 18-20. It's a blast. They've hosted a show there every year since 1979. It's usually an MCA National, but some clubs in other regions complained that Pensacola always got a show. I say they've earned it.

Brad--

We've tried to make the show--most of our club does--but it comes at a bad time for us. That is in the middle of the semester and both my wife and I teach. We plan to drive out this year for a day or two to look and see.

350--man, that's a lot of cars!

I plan to come up for the day, most likely. I probably won't show, but I'd like to attend.

LMan, not only do you gotta come, but you might think about bring a sack lunch and a few bottled waters. The days can get long when you're on staff.
