1970 Twister Special

Hello!...

I was talking with some friends the other day... and some questions came up about the twister special... maybe someone of you knows the answers... cause some guys said the car came with deluxe interior, others said it came with mach1 interior... some said it came with magun500, other said it had only wheel caps... another one said that some where black and white, and I said it was only graber orange and black...

Could someone please help me?... thanks in advance!!

well i kno the colors were not limited like that. in fact ive only seen grabber blue and grabber orange. and i think ive seen both wheel options... not entirely sure on the wheelcaps

and i was under the assumptions that all twister specials were mach 1s with dealer addons... so that led me to beleive they had mach interiors

im not entirely sure about everying and im by no means an expert, but thats what little i know. hope it helps

1. Deluxe interior is the Mach 1 interior...
2. Only the Bosses had factory Mag 500s.
3. I wouldn't know...

Every_mn... I think you r kinda wrong... go and visit (example) www.mustangsunlimited.com and you can find "regular" interior, De luxe, and Mach1... they where diferents, mach 1 was... well... mach1... like stripes (comfortwave?)... and de luxe was like big squares...

MY05GT... timeline... doesnt says much... thanks anyway!!...

ARIN!!!... hows that GREAT II goin'?... u need 2 see some pics of mine... 74 mustang II mach1 mexico edition, factory 302 v8... lots of original extras... one owner only!... my mom and me... u know the diferences betwen a mexican and an american mustangII... dont you?... Mex where "better"... hope to talk about this more with you!...

arf, i do know the differences, and i am ever so jealous!!!

you guys got the V8 from the start in '74, and you did not have catalytic converters i think... were there any suspension differences too? im inclined to b eleive so but i dont know.

i'd love to see some pictures the only pics of a mex II were from an old mustang II magazine article, from '73 or '74

also... is it true that the 351W was an option for you guys? ive heard rumors.....

arin...
351w... was NOT a factory or dealer option... but you could "MAYBE" get one there... I really dont know cause it seems so fkuing thight... I will get you some pics so u can see... just give me some time ok?...
Yeah we got the 302 from the beginin... 205 hps and 295 trq... it had bigger brakes... different rear end... different tires... different radiator supports... cowl top panel, front side inner and outer members, dash panel, front floor, rear floor reinforcement, and a new tunnel patch. The engine is offset about an inch and a half to the right to clear steering even after the steering had been mounted in a different location... it uses a smaller alternator... a different radiator core and 90-degree oil filter mount to get things to fit properly... and the Mexican Mustang has a special feature all its own on the right side of the engine compartment... It's a duct made of heavy plastic that picks up air from behind the right headlight then carries it rearward around the 12-volt battery to cool it, and then pushes the air directly into the side of the air cleaner tub... does not, in fact, have a heater as standard equipment... It's optional, along with air conditioning... the suspension layout is way different... etc etc etc etc...

here, let me give you some links to the full story arin...

hmm i dont kno if the battery thing is a mexico only thing, i have one on mine, and its was a V6 built here in the US. mine is ruined though, most of it has shattered and broken off

i do remember the suspension differences, but i didnt know about the brakes, the crhome exhaust and the rear end, along with some of the other little details

i say you've got quite a nice car

perhaps i need to find me some mexican V8 springs, because i would like a slightly taller ride height. would love some pictures if tou ever get the chance

i am almost positive that the Twister Special only came in Grabber Orange.

The Sidewinder Special came in different grabber colors
