I can share what I am about to do ... I am still waiting for the SOW form JBA in San Diego.

Right now it is a rough estimate of 30K plus my 19K to purchase the car; what I plan to do is completely rebuild the suspension, driveline, breaks, driveline, rearend, new fuel cell, some steering work, new tires and rims, moving from a 3 speed auto to a 5 speed manual, cleaning out the engine bay, dress up, and motor build.

In their words, plan to spend 10K on the motor ( 351W stroked to a 408 ) and about 15K for the rest. Mind you these are still estimates.

The problem is that I am already at 50K after this in two years; even a stock restoration costs dollars ( not as much as mine ). Then comes the body ... another 10K???? Next thing you know you are at 60K. Then you have to worry about protecting your investment; get your insurance to back your captiol investment into this building. Will I be able to insure my car for 50K, then 60K after the body work? Possibiliy, but at what cost year after year.

take away my stroker mod and transmission but do rebuild the current motor and tranny -- 6K? 7K? ... I am looking to build this car to last and be in the family for a long time.

I do it for the love of this car and that these cars are fading slowly over time and their values do creep up; the 351W and 302 Fastbacks are probibly still at low 20s for a running decent car. With good care, professional building, your car will increase in value

Do you have the fastback already? Can we see pictures? Mine are on my sig below.

good luck

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
