1968 Mustang instrument lights

Hi, I have a problem and I hope someone out there can help me . I am re-doing the interior on my 68 coupe. I just put a new Scott Drake bezel for the instrument cluster in . Every thing works except the panel lights . I have checked to make sure the fuse wasn't blown , made sure I plugged all wires back in . I don't know what else I can check . Thanks Ron

I had a problem on my 66 coupe where the previous owner cut, melted and destroyed every wire behind the dash. No reasoning behind it, so I was forced into a total rewire of the car as it could not be salvaged. I used American Autowire upgrade kit. With their help and instructions they helped me create a whole new loom for the guages. Their awsome wiring diagrams on their kits has been updated now as a result and could be a help to you as it shows original wire colours. Have you checked the earth point is a quality connection to the frame? I also have a Haynes Mustang restoration manual that has a complete wire harness breakdown in it.

Good point BA...I have to fiddle with mine (headlight switch) most of the time to get the gauge cluster to light up. That's the best place to start.

Yeah mine was messed up so I eventually just added a switch to turn on my dash lights.
