I'm adding a 1970 style Mach I scoop to my hood. It is very similiar to the 68.5 R code scoop (had one in 68). I would like to know the distance from the back of the hood to the beginning location of the scoop. The two numbers I've heard are 1 1/4" and 3 1/4".

Scoop coming from CJPony. The OEM product off Ebay came in with the fiberglass cracked, and more expensive to fix than worth it. My car is in paint right now, so I sorta need an answer pretty soon.

you `re going non stock .. put it where it looks good ..no one will know ..

 

Looks like it goes right up against the back of the hood.
