1967 Mustang Rear Bumper Alignment

Does anyone know the proper way to align the rear bumper on a 1967 mustang? The car did not come with one, so we had to buy a used one from the Carlisle car show. Also, is there supposed to be a curve in the bumper at all? If not, that might be the problem. I'll post pictures of how we have it aligned now, as well as the "curve" that I'm seeing.

So many of them are slightly curved that I don't know if they are supposed to be or have just had 45 years to get damaged? What's the definitive answer?

The photos of the bumper alignment as of now. The last pictures sort of shows the slight curve.

Well that's good news! Thanks! Any comments on how we have the bumper aligned or how to make it better?

You could make the bolt holes bigger on the bracket

Indeed, I can't remember those bumpers ever being straight, unless someone straightened it.

But the corners? Yeah... those are *way* sprung out. You... need to take it back and get another, or have one fixed right. I really don't think those ends should be that far out... should they?

Got it. This bumper was used as a step stool over the years, and caused the outer parts to get bent down and away. Just shove them back into place, I say.

/As if it's just that easy...
