Ford Will Lean Heavily on Mustang Fans for Global Roll-Out
Well, apparently, they’ll be relying on a few longstanding fans around the world to help roll-out the model in Europe and China.
According to a recent Wall Street Journal report, Ford will be soliciting the help of people such as Wei Mingyao, part of an 82-member Mustang fan club in China. A Mustang fan for decades, Mingyao paid $82,000 for a special import model of the Ford pony car last year.
In addition to Mingyao’s club, Ford will also draw on the support of similar Mustang groups and individuals in Europe, which will likely prove to be the most critical market in the new Mustang garnering more global appeal.
As for the U.S., Mustang clubs have always played a role in the marketing of a new model. And they’ll likely play an even bigger role in the roll out of the sixth-generation Mustang considering how high the stakes are for the car’s success.
One thing’s for sure, Ford certainly appears to have nailed the most important step in launching the all-new 2015 Mustang, which is a hot design.
