It might be safe to say that any questions over whether the Mustang will be a hit in Europe can be laid to rest.

During a promotional kick-off for the new pony car at last weekend’s UEFA Champions League soccer final, Ford received 9,300 applications to reserve the first 500 cars to be sold in Europe, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Of course, the nearly 10,000 applications hardly constitute a home run when it comes to actual sales; however, it certainly seems to confirm there’s a lot of interest in the first Mustang to ever be sold in Europe in the 50-year history of the car.
