Raxiom Unit
Hello,
I bought a used Raxiom nav gps unit for 2010-2014 mustangs and have an issue with it. I believe this is the gen 1 model as the manufactured date is early 2014. The unit did power on before I received it and it came with everything including the controls from the car that it came out of. The issue I'm having is after it was hooked up, everything worked except the display. It does not power on. My questions are, if anyone knows, do you think I need to remove the controls from my car and put that on the unit? And any reason why the display would not come on and anyway to test that?

If the display is not powering on, my best guess would be to tackle this from two angles.
If you bought this on eBay, I would immediately reach out to the seller indicating that it isn't working and ask them for support. Include pictures and possibly video evidence.
Unless you are really looking to get "into" this thing. Your best bet to to return it. Swapping your controls is unlikely to fix the issue as the only things that are tied to a car in any meaningful way is the PCM, IPC, and the RCM I believe (IPC and PCM controlling pats, abs and PCM containing your vin number in the data.).
If you are dead set on trying to fix it, you will need at the very least a multimeter and, very likely, a soldering iron.
I would start by dismantling the unit until you have access to the PCB or plug that drives power to the display and check to see if you are getting a steady voltage when the unit is powered. Head units (at least the OEM one) are the waiting for a wake up signal on the canbus and you are unlikely to be able to reproduce that at your desk. Which means, a lot of this is going to be done in the car unfortunately.
