I guess Ford saw no profit for a special edition. I think they should have done something though, A simple red white blue paint scheme on a Mustang or ???. Maybe something along the lines of the old AMC Donahue Javelin.
Ford Mustang's Tri-bar Pony Emblem already wears the Red White & Blue, it's just a matter of some clever marketing and incentives.
Back in 1972 for the Munich Summer Olympics there was the Sprint Decor Option Package.
For 2011 there was the Daytona 500 Pace Car Livery option.
I think the Spirit of America GTD would have been the perfect model to commemorate America250 (along with "...60 years of Mustang Achievement...").
