MM caster/camber plates are in

Put in Maximum's c/c plates last week. The suspension tech was able to get -3.3 on the driver's side and -2.8 on the passenger side. Since I was at -1.7 and front tire wear was only slightly uneven on the track tires, we set it at -2.2 for now. I'm afraid -2.8 is too much for the street. Looking forward to how it handles at BIR this weekend. I'm going to be flipping my rears after a couple days this time. The inside edge of the rears had a ton of tread left.

The strut is tipped in almost all the way to the inner strut tower on the pass side but almost in the middle on the driver's side. My friend's 5.0 is the same way. More negative available on the driver's side.

Great! Let us know how it feels on the track as well as the street. I'm not going to be switching camber from street to track so I need to know what a happy medium setting is.

Feels really good on the street and turn in is wicked with the r-comps on! I had my car track ready but found out the dealer was having a car show today so I drove it down for a bit on the Nittos and "tested" a few corners. I can't wait to put it on the track.

Great. Now you should be able to fine tune at-the-track based on pyrometer readings, as well. Make some marks on the strut tower where your street settings are so you can go back to them quickly.

Good to hear! So no fitment issues with our cars? May just go ahead and place my order today.

PS - almost feel like I owe Cloud some beers, he's guinea-pigged quite a few things now for us all :-)

Are those a street or race camber plate? Any more NHV after adding them?

Race...MM's stuff is very high quality. I went with MM's becuase IF I ever decided to change out any of the factory suspension, I'd strongly consider MM's. That is a huge IF though because at this point I'm nowhere close to maxing out what the factory gave us. The factory suspension performs extremely well. However, from personal experience in these cars, adding some negative camber does improve turn-in and evens out tire wear on the track.

No increased NVH that I've noticed at all. I've only driven about 50 street miles, but if it was significant I'm sure I would have noticed it.

You know I tried that with my GT500 and ended up wrecking two front street tires. When you change the camber, you change toe even if you move it back. I wrecked the street tires on a 400 mile round trip to Sturgis. If you're just doing limited driving around town, maybe the toe being off won't induce that much tire wear to bother, but if it's a daily driver it could get to be an issue. For me, I'll see how this goes and either leave it or readjust and realign.

I understand what you're saying, never had an issue on my '06 doing this, however. Weird.

These cars toe-out when adding camber, correct? If that's the case, if you are exacting about your settings, you could set the car up for street use and have the toe set there, add camber for the track, and in theory be very close on toe when you set it back to the street settings.

However, makes sense to at least have a set of toe plates or get an alignment check if you're getting lots of street miles.

Zero for now so it's good on the street. I suppose I could consider a little toe out but didn't want to wreck my street tires.

Thanks Gary, I've used MM stuff before on my Fox Mustangs with great success and was planning to use on my Boss. As everyone else said, thanks for being our R&D! :-)

Hey Gary,
How did the extra camber feel at last weekend's event? Are you going to be making any changes?

It felt really good. Tire temps seemed to be pretty consistent across the face, although the insides were hotter if anything. Front left was always quite a bit hotter than front right though since we were running clockwise. For now I'm going to leave it. I'm going to watch the tire wear on the fronts to see how they look. With only one day on a "parts friendly" track, there's not enough wear for me to tell.
