XXR-522 in black 19X8.5 +15mm offset
Here are a couple of new pics I removed the headlight splitters&reinstalled those fogs I was running center mounted in the stock grille into the stock side locations. I just got a great deal on a factory headlight switch so I will be wiring them up here shortly&adding either a 55w bi-xenon digital hid kit with 6k bulbs, or black raxiom projectors or I may just make my own projectors using a retro source kit. Still undecided

It looks like he just took off the shiny plastic rim that said FORD off the rear fake gas cap and left the inner part of the cap on it, then painted the entire decklid matte black.
it looks so good

^its not just as simple as taking off the factory outer chrome plastic. The emblem is actually three separate pieces that have to be broken apart as they are cemented together. But yeah thats basically what I did. I'd been wanting to do this for quite a while and finally had the nerve to pull it apart. Not going to tell how I did it but I did help my buddy do it to his 11 3.7 recently and it looks just as bad*ss on a black stang to, well maybe not as good as on my race red

Agree, there's no secret sauce to guard here.
once you get the faux cap off the back (you can use fishing line), then you have to drill out the plastic studs from the back of the faux cap that keep the whole thing together. the faux cap is three pieces: the big outside ring, then the inner trim ring, then the center medallion itself. once you do that, you just put some 3M adhesive on the the medallion, paint the deck flat black, and stick the medallion back on.

You've almost got it right*no drilling is required at least not on the two I've done so far* but your not quite right and you can substitute good dental floss for fishing line
edit as for helping fellow forum members i've posted plenty of mods I've got firsthand experience with on this and many other forums. I've pioneered plenty of mods on the 2010+body style so gtfo ya purdy sum of a *****

finished putting on the CDC chin spoiler today. Think it works well with the SS eleanor grille. Unfortunately I have to keep the front plate on. Still waiting on my hood scoop...
threw on some GT-500 chrome wheels from AM
had a custom pony rear faux cap emblem made up to replace the "GT" emblem.

OK, so I got a couple of gel dome decals made up by Devries signs. guys name is Roger. real good guy: devriessigns@gmail.com (it seems the site might be down right now: http://www.zr2usa.com/Decals/
the exact emblem size for the 2010+ mustangs is 104 mm (which is equal to
4.0945 inches). I explained earlier in this thread how to take apart the faux gas cap. you will need a roll of 3M adhesive tape to get everything back together and you will need to put a layer or 2 of the adhesive to bring up the center emblem so that it is more flush with the cap because you will have a good sized recess when you take out the GT emblem.
anyway, he's got a good selection of chrome and black Ford emblems to choose from, but I think a lot of you may be asking for the 5.0 logo, which he should be able to do.
a couple of pics (they look white in the pics but are actually chrome decals inside a gel dome:
this is the ford logo I had made up but decided not to use.
and this is what I decided to use instead:

The only thing I don't like about that is it's an old Pony Design...
good stuff none the less.
Looks like this image?
Edit: Also- Brembo caps may partner with the look real well?
