Fog light sheild fell off inside

I'm not exactly sure what the part is called, but it's the black cylinder that surronds the lamp when installed. I was changing the bulbs and as I was removing the passenger side bulb, that thing fell into the light housing.

Figures. The drivers side blew, so I figured I'd switch them both out at once, instead of just the one. And of course, this happens on the passenger side.

It looks like the lense is held on to the back with butyl and 2 clips, but is it even worth heating the case up and splitting it just to fix this darn thing?

There's no way to just pull it out thru the hole, I tried. It looks like it fits in with 2 little prongs that stick into the plastic.

Any ideas? For now I guess I'm driving around like this.

I had the same problem. I managed to get them back on by removing the light from the grill and using long needle pliers. Problem was that once I used them again the clip fell off again. I had been using aftermarket lights that created too much heat and actually caused the clip to release from the holder. I got Ford to give me new lights and I returned them to the stock bulbs and have had no problem since.
I am thinking that if I want to use a different bulb for color I will have to go to the halo lights that do not have this type of deflector inside. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks. I'll take a look at the halo style lights, might be another mod for the car.
