Door handle rattles...FIXED!!
Door handle rattles...FIXED!!
I know I'm not the only one to have this problem...so I'm glad to spread word of the solution! Today I finally found that **** rattle in the area of the driver's side interior door handle and I found something very peculiar. As it turns out, the door handle cover isn't one piece like I thought it was. You have the main bezel around it, but then there's actually a backplate as shown here:

When I looked closer I realized that the back plate was very loose (animated gif):

So I removed it used some double sided foam tape like this:

And problem solved! No more rattles! Now while I was in there I removed the shift lever boot and added some tape to get rid of that rattle:

And then the same to the A-pillar. Now when I had the A-pillar off I found this. Does anyone have any idea what this is?

Dido. Mine started rattling too this year when the weather got cold. How did you remove the back plate without breaking it?
Ditto. Prying in the area by the handle pivot gives you the most space to work with and if you marr the plastic you'll never see it. Just be careful because the plastic is somewhat soft.
Yay resurrected thread!
So anyway, I used a square of velcro on the back, centered, and that shut mine up.
Both those, and the ones down in the grab handle area.
Now, as to the unanswered question of the golden square thingy in the A-pillar cover? That's a box that happens to, yep, grab onto some velcro... er, hook and loop... that's on the pillar, thereby providing a mid anchor in addition to the big hooks on the dash and the clips higher up.
