Touch up paint?

Long story short.. I got a gash across my bumper. It's only the black gash, the rest of the stuff I already buffed and cleaned off. The paint is completely gone. I went to a few shops. One wanted $260. The other one who does paint work for GAS wanted $460. Then the last shop's owner said he personally wouldn't do it because the paint is injected into the plastic, so painting it will never look the same. I'm more inclined to believe him because why else would he turn away business?

I was under the (false) assumption that I could just easily touch it up and clear coat it to make it go away

My budget was $200 to get it fixed. Do you guys have any suggestions to make it look new again??

Thanks !!

Jimmy give SMS in Corona a call. They may have a takeoff bumper in perf. white available. When I scratched my trim I called them and they were gonna sell me a takeoff bumper for $150. I lucked out and there were great member's here who gave me the trim for free

Ummm, paint is NOT injected into the plastic. They are primed and painted just like the rest of the car. The only difference is they add a 'flex' agent to the paint as the bumper covers have more 'give' than metal and the paint would crack without it.
