Easy Skip-Shift elimination...
I new there had to be a mechainical way to eliminate the skip-shift feature.
This is from a Ford tech, says it will not throw a code or trip any light.
Simply unplug the solenoid and tape it up the plug to prevent damage.

Once you jack the car up it shouldn't take more than a minute or two to do it.

Skip-shift eliminator for the 5.0L ... just a pair of plugs that you put in series with the factory plug that simply interups all the wires.
Someone could probably make some money here, just need to keep it a secret that simply unplugging it does the same thing !!

Awesome i think when i ever get my car this will be my first mod !! maybe push a lil grease in the plugs to keep them from corroding in the winter wonderland we call wisconsin ..
can anyone that does this report back if it works ??

I went for a test drive in an ’11 GT today and drove a stick for the first time in 15 years. I started out by making a few laps in an empty parking lot. Needless to say, I started off very slowly. I never felt the skip-shift thing kick in. Could I have just missed it?

Jacked up the car this morning and unplugged it. The connection is way up on the tranny so it is a bit difficult to see. Just slide yourself down to the tailshaft and it is easier to get too.
Took it for a spin around the block, no skip shift and no MIL. I will post back after a couple of days of commuting and let you guys know if anything changes.

Boy, there are a LOT of pissed-off Mustang owners over this transmission. Ford is not doing Chinese manufacturing's image any favors with this POS tranny. Frankly I don't know how they thought this would be a good idea. They were doing so well with not making idiotic decisions, too...

The whole skip shift thing was to make the EPA happy, not really anything to do with it being made in China. Altho I'd still prefer one made in the states.

I agree - it gives a certain perception, given the visibility of the issues.
