Drivetrain vibration -- normal?

I have a 3.7L V6 with a six-speed manual.

When I'm coasting and the RPMs are in the 2500 RPM range, if keep my hand on the shifter I sometimes feel a vibration. Sort of a rumble. As soon as i step on the gas, it vanishes.

Something to worry about, or normal?

Probably road rumble, I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes more pronounced.

I have the same anomaly with mine and was wondering if it warranted concern. Seems like some kind of harmonics building up when the revs are just right. Thought there might have been a hidden "Growl Mode" on the V6! So, now I'll be curious if any other members have noticed this.

If you take your hand off the shifter do you see the shifter vibrating? or is it just when you have your hand on the shifter you feel a bit of a vibration.

You will feel some in the shifter for sure...

Yeah, it's not in the shifter, for me anyway. The whole car kinda has a growl to it. I've been trying to isolate where I feel it and in my case it's tough 'cause once the vibration is there, it seems to run through the whole drive train. I should say, it sure doesn't feel serious even though my description might seem so. It's vague....but present.

You can feel it a bit in the steering wheel. It's only at about 2500-2600 RPM, and when you step on the gas it's gone.

If it's normal, I'll shut up about it, but it's a little weird.

2012 V6 Performance Package (Vibration at 2500rpm)
Today I noticed that on the highway, while accelerating in 4th , if I let the rpm fall from 3000 to 2500 naturally (taking foot off gas) I get a strange vibration – seems like whole car is shaking. When the rpm fall below 2200 or so it stops. I reproduced it repeatedly. Speed was 80 kilometers an hour in 4th gear.
It feels exactly like when your wheel passes over those grooves on the edge of the highway that alert you that you are departing from your lane (the horizontal ones that are very close together and look like tracks)
I have also felt this at time at low speed on the street, but very rearly.
Should I be concerned ?
Thank you.

The V6 is designed and geared for fuel economy. On an automatic, the transmission continually attempts to keep the car at a lower cruising rpm (to improve gas mileage) and downshifts, and that can cause the car to "struggle" at certain speeds, causing a slight vibration. On mine, it happens around 40mph, when I am just cruising at that speed in heavy traffic. Sometimes I will just manually put the car in 3rd gear and that solves it.
