Caught on Dash Cam: Wild Mustang Carves Out its Own Lane

Mustang misses exit, but driver decides to create his own path. And yes, it fails miserably.

Watching this video from Viral Hog we were reminded of a few things. Whatever you do, there’s a good chance someone might catch it on camera. And second, just because your Mustang is badass, it doesn’t mean you can or should get away with driving it like a jackass.

Said jackass was caught on dash cam in Riverside, California. You can see the Mustang misses his exit. But lack of a road is clearly not an issue for an expert driver, right?

Sadly, this is a case where MacGyver-esque stunts really don’t cut it. The Mustang almost misses the exit, but decides to turn and try and squeeze in, regardless. At first it seems like the Mustang is attempting some sort of lane splitting. But when he/she realizes they’ve missed the lane, he/she decides to double-down on a bad decision.

But it all went downhill from there. Quite literally.

The man who caught the incident on his dash cam explained:

“I was driving Westbound on the 60 freeway in Riverside when a Mustang attempted to overtake a truck on the shoulder of the 15 freeway ramp. It hit loose dirt, lost control and slid down the embankment. There were no injuries to report and the car seemed to have driven away.”

We are certainly glad to hear this wasn’t worse, certainly driving aggressively like this is really best left to the track. Actually, on a closed course under the right conditions, this might be a cool maneuver. Of course, the dash cam driver’s reaction at the time is pretty perfect, laughing “Mustangs in the wild, mother (expletive)!”

They are magnificent machines, but best when handled by drivers that have more common sense than frills for thrills.
