Convertible Rocket-Mustang Unveiled at Pebble Beach

Fisker Galpin Rocket Speedster

You might not typically think “modern day Mustang” for an event like the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. But there certainly was a lot of buzz around one at the California event this past weekend.

Looking to garner further clout among the rich and richer, Galpin and Henrik Fisker used the affair to unveil the Fisker-Galpin Auto Sports Rocket Speedster, a convertible model of their 725-horespower modified pony car.

In addition to all that power and a wider stance, the topless Rocket Mustang conversion features a number of unique elements over the standard Mustang convertible, including a custom carbon fiber roof instead of a soft top and special aerodynamic features, as highlighted in a Motor Authority report.

You do, however, lose the rear seats in the convertible model, which really isn’t a huge deal considering the Mustang has never really been a true four-seater anyway. Of course, considering that pricing for the coupe version of the Rocket Mustang is pegged at $109,100, rolling topless in this convertible Mustang won’t come cheap.
