Contestant Wins Mustang Kiss-Off After 55 Hours
Radio station contestant says she plans to sell car to help her parents buy a house.
It’s tough to top this kind of love for Mustangs. And we’re talking love in a more intimate sense than the kind we typically cover here.
It began as a radio station contest with 57 people puckering up to a Ford pony car. Some 55 hours later, Rachel Newman wound up winning the 2017 Mustang.
The contest was put on by Michigan radio station Channel 955. It’s been dubbed Mojo’s Make Out with a Mustang contest. Under the contest guidelines, participants’ lips were required to touch the vehicle at all times. If a contestant left the car, even for a split second, they were eliminated from the competition. However, the participants were given a 10-minute break after every hour. The contest also included one person being randomly selected for elimination every hour if none of the contestants dropped out.

The kiss-off started at 8:20 a.m. on April 24, and came down to the wire, with Rachel battling out Autumn Kohsman in the final hours. But due to health and safety concerns, the station decided to implement an elimination process, picking Autumn’s ball out of a machine that made Rachel the winner.
Rachel, who is 22-years-old, says she plans to sell the Mustang so that her parents can make a down payment on a house.
Even as diehard Mustang fans, it’s hard not to be impressed by Rachel’s decision to cash in on her win for her parents. Of course, at age 22, Rachel has a lot of years ahead of her to pursue her passion for a replacement Ford pony car.
