By today’s standards, Fox Bodies, and most muscle cars for that matter, aren’t considered safe. No airbags, no ABS, questionable seat belts, but hey: they had padded steering wheels, right? Well, having them, and having them stay in place during a crash is a different story as you’ll see.

I’d never seen someone jump a Fox-body until I saw this insane video of Vaughn Gitten Jr. rallying, jumping and sliding his Fox-body drift Mustang in a rock quarry located on the back of his property. There’s no way around it, Gitten is as crazy as he is talented, and here’s proof!

It has “epic,” written all over it: Steve Miller Band is playing in the background and there’s a running Mustang (horse) and the new-for-1979 Ford Mustang rolling down the road. The commercial uses such catchphrases as; “dramatic sports-car styling”, “one of the most efficient aerodynamic designs of any car now built in America”, and “feel it slice through the wind.” Wow.
