After driving the 2015 Mustang GT, I didn’t have an S-197 sitting around to really detect all the differences between the two cars. However, our friends at Autoweek just so happened to have both on hand to play around with. Here’s what they found.
Being that Vaughn Gittin Jr. is a Mustang enthusiast and sponsored by Ford, it’s no surprise the mad tire slayer got his hands on the brand-new Mustang GT, which of course was fully equipped with Ford’s new warranty-killing Line Lock system.
The car had only 17,000 miles on it — it was a true barn find. Bruce doesn’t really drive the car that much because he doesn’t want to replace the factory original tires in fear of having it depreciate in value. Part of me says that decision is epically stupid.
Ford hasn’t even begun selling the new Mustang and they think they already have a problem with it. Ford believes dealers are going to have a problem selling the four-cylinder turbo EcoBoost Mustang; so much so that they have begun to send out trainers to show the salespeople how to sell this car.
Start getting excited for some epic hooning! Yes, everyone’s favorite GoPro and tire smoke enthusiast, Ken Block, was spotted filming Gymkhana 7 with this badass ride, a bunch of GoPros, closed-off streets, a full film crew and lots of security.
