Mustangs in Movies: 2005 Saleen Police Car Rolls Out for First “Transformers”

There’s much to like about “Barricade”, the 2005 Saleen that gets all Decepticonned and copped-out in the first “Transformers” movie … you know, the one that has a plot that’s actually somewhat discernible. Obviously we’re attracted to the fact that the big bad bot wants to run over Shia LaBeouf, but the sick police paint job and ominous siren-placement just make it a badass regardless.

We’re a little upset Bumblebee (the Camaro) gets to have Megan Fox all slinky up on its grill, but the fact the stock Saleen S281 Extreme with a 4.6-liter V8 was specially created by Saleen and DreamWorks SKG, well, that puts it in a whole ‘nother category. We’ll take those two creative forces modifying our Mustang any day.

Amazingly enough, back in 2009, one of the three Saleens used for principal photography sold for just $36,000; way less than its $100,000-$300,000 estimated value.
