Although Mustang owners gathering to show off their cars is nothing new, we always love of hearing when they do — especially when it’s for a great cause.

That was exactly the case in Alabama where hundreds of Mustang owners recently got together to help a boy who is struggling with cancer, as reported by WHNT 19 News.

The rally for young Eli Williams, who is battling brain cancer, even garnered the support of the Mustang Club of America and Shelby American.

Joseph Scott, President of the Limestone County Mustang Club, told the local Alabama news station that they were moved to get involved after hearing about Eli’s situation. “He was already dreaming about when he turns 16 and getting a Mustang,” said Scott.

The National Club has even set up an online fundraiser for Eli, which had raised $4,000 so far.

”It’s neat to have cars and go to the car shows and stuff,” said Steve Prewitt, the National Mustang Club president, who attended the event. “But the hobby and the enthusiasm is about friendships and the memories that we make with our cars and the camaraderie with the people that we meet.

“That just blesses our heart to know that the car community would care that much about somebody with the situation that Eli is in.”
