Shelby American Releases Signature Edition GT350 and GT500

Shelby American has more in store for GT350 and GT500 owners.

Carroll Shelby has announced two new special models. Both the GT350 and the GT500 will get the “Signature Edition” treatment.

The Signature Edition treatment for the GT350 includes updated aero, new wheels and tires, interior upgrades, and a more aggressive suspension.

Any 2015-2020 GT350 can be sent to SA in Las Vegas for the Signature Edition upgrade. However, just 100 cars from each model year will be eligible, so act fast.

Faster, Leaner, and Meaner

The GT500SE includes all of the upgrades from the GT350SE. From there, Shelby American revs up the intensity with a smaller supercharger pulley and improved cooling to boost power over 800 horsepower.

In addition, GT500SEs also receive a lightweight carbon fiber hood. This hood weighs 30 pounds less than the stock unit. It shaves weight at a key part of the car — up front and up high.

Like the GT350SE, the GT500SE is limited to just 100 units. Since the GT500 is all new for 2020, it’s considerably more limited than the GT350SE. Still, we think that the Shelby Signature Edition package is a great send off for the beloved GT350.

We’ll miss the GT350, even though we’re eager to get our hands on the 2021 Mach 1. To be totally honest with you, though, we’d almost rather have a GT350SE!

Signature Edition buyers will have their choice of several striping packages, as well as a host of special badging and upholstery options. Shelby American advises that the GT500SE package can be bundled with several other optional packages that Shelby offers, including a widebody kit.

Each Signature Edition car will, naturally, be serialized, as well as added to the official Shelby American Registry. Proceeds from the sale of each car will benefit the Carroll Shelby Foundation.

In addition, buyers will also receive Team Shelby membership. Team Shelby was started by the late, great Carroll Shelby himself back in 2008. It’s an enthusiast club for owners (and admirers) of Shelby vehicles.

Of course, Signature Edition vehicles will also be eligible to undergo future modifications at Shelby American. After all, for horsepower junkies like us, you can never have too much power.
