2019 Carlisle Ford Nationals Smashes Attendance Records in Pennsylvania
Thousands of cars and tens of thousands of guests continue to make this the largest all-Ford show in the world.
For Blue Oval fans, car shows just don’t get any better than the Carlisle Ford Nationals, held May 31 – June 2, 2019. Perennially the largest all-Ford show in the world, each year brings thousands of Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Euro cars to the legendary fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Not to mention tens of thousands of spectators. And yet, the Ford Nationals just keeps on growing. To the point where this year’s gathering smashed pretty much every attendance record you can count.
This year, a whopping 3,196 cars spanning Ford’s 112 years of production rolled in to strut their stuff. Even more astounding is the fact that roughly 60,000 guests also came to soak it all in. Those lofty numbers only solidified Carlisle’s status as the consummate event for Ford lovers all over the globe. There’s simply something for every Blue Oval fan in attendance to see, from rare rides to racers to hard-working pickups. And of course, more Mustangs than you can shake a stick at.
With such a massive influx of cars and folks, it’s no surprise that people began lining up for the Ford Nationals days before the event even began. All of the indoor building displays were filled up by Thursday, with many folks showing up Monday before the show started. This year’s featured vehicle displays included special tributes to the Fox Body Mustang, Mach 1, Boss, Eliminator, and Maverick.
Taking center stage was the Ford Nationals Select display, which consists of 12 very special cars. This year, that lineup included an original 1982 Escort with less than 900 miles on it, a 1959 English Ford, and a 1961 Country Squire.
And of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Ford Nationals without a strong showing from the Blue Oval themselves. The legendary automaker came strong this year with a host of great products including the Shelby GT500 and 2.3-liter High Performance Package Mustang. Guests could even take the latter and the GT350 for some hot laps around the track.
On top of that, pretty much every notable aftermarket Mustang tuner was in attendance, too. That includes Roush, who brought along their new supercharged Stage 3 Mustang. And not to be forgotten, Saleen tagged along with their all-new 2019 SA35 edition Mustang as well.
The 2019 Carlisle Ford Nationals was, as always, a real treat for Blue Oval fans. And next year’s extravaganza is already set in stone. So you might as well go ahead and block your calendar for June 5-7, 2020 and register here
