Twin Turbo Shelby GT350 Lays Down Massive Power

By -

Extracting 1,100-plus wheel horsepower from a Shelby GT350 is a simple as bolting on this impressive twin turbo kit.

Nobody has ever accused the latest iteration of the Mustang Shelby GT350 of being slow. Sure, there are those out there that have clamored for more power from the 5.2-liter flatplane crank engine with an eye toward besting the competition. For those that just can’t stand the thought of having less power than the Hellcats of the world, Indiana-based tuner Fathouse Fabrications has the perfect solution.

Fathouse’s 1000r twin-turbo package, that is. It’s a comprehensive solution at that, encompassing a hot of go fast goodies. The heart of this package, of course, is a pair of Garrett Gen2 GTX dual ball bearing turbos. Most everything else is also bolt-on, and all the internals are stock save for upgraded billet oil pump gears and a beefier crank sproket.

The results obviously speak for themselves. This particular Shelby GT350 equipped with the twin-turbo setup sees some seriously impressive gains with a little tuning. On 93-octane pump gas, the car belts out 750 hp. Toss in some E85 or race gas, and that number jumps to 950. But in this case, Fathouse turns things up more than ever to show what it can do. And the boosted Shelby GT350 lays down even more power. A whole lot more.

How does 1,143 hp and 786 lb-ft of torque at the wheels sound? Sounds like a recipe for a car we’d like to go Hellcat hunting in, that’s for sure. Fathouse says that Ford’s Voodoo engine “impresses us more and more each time we build one.” We heartily agree with that assessment. But we’re even more impressed with what they’re able to do with this one.
