2nd Annual Summer Ford Fling Set to Take over Pacific Northwest
Summer might be just about over, but we can’t think of a better way to send it off than this year’s Ford Fling.
Summer is quickly winding down, as kids go back to school and football season prepares to kick off. But that doesn’t mean that car show season is over just yet. In fact, those who live within spitting distance of Vancouver, Washington have a fantastic event right around the corner to look forward to – the 2nd annual Summer Ford Fling, which takes place on Saturday, August 17. This all-Ford event, put on by Northwest Mustangs and Classic Fords, promises to be packed with Mustangs from both group members and outsiders.
The show takes place at Chucks Produce Market at Salmon Creek, which offers up easy access. And even though this is an all-Ford event, there is an “other” category, but we obviously aren’t interested in that. What we want to see are a bunch of killer Mustangs, and the Ford Fling promises to offer just that. Even better, participants will be vying for a number of awards in different categories. First place winners even receive custom trophies designed and built by a NW club member.
Like any good car show, the cars won’t be the only thing that make the Ford Fling worth attending. There will also be plenty of activities for the kids, including face painting, games, and some tasty hand-dipped ice cream. In addition, participants can vie for various raffle prizes and specialty awards. Not to mention enjoy some tasty food and listen to some great music. Vendors will also be on hand if you’re in the market for various goods.
Best of all, all proceeds from the Ford Fling will be donated to Camp More. The charity provides a place for kids and teens who stutter to improve communication skills and build self confidence. So you know that every dime you spend is going to a great cause.
