2018 Mustang GT Window Sticker Leaked
More performance, more gears, and more miles per gallon? Yes, please!
With admirable levels of self-control, Ford has been teasing the details of the refreshed Mustang. Uncovering the leaked window sticker, then, has been a nice reprieve from the slow trickle so far. An enthusiast over at Mustang6G posted the image in question.
We’ll cut right to the chase: the EPA says you’ll be looking at 16/25 mpg city/highway, making for 19 mpg combined when the 2018 Mustang GT is paired with the slick new 10-speed automatic. Now, compared with the 15/25/18 city/highway/combined of a 2017 Mustang GT with the 6-speed auto, this doesn’t look like much to get excited about. But when you put that in the context of 25 more horsepower, 20 more lb-ft of torque, and a 0-60 sprint of “less than 4 seconds” we’re reading some more drivability into this.
Think rapid-fire shifts that keep the Coyote in the meat of its power band when you want it most: like when you’re getting on the freeway. Do your part, turn off Silent Mode, and drive it like a Mustang is meant to be driven. We know many enthusiasts will likely opt for the 6-speed manual (we would), but if you have a long stop-and-go commute, the 10-speed auto looks like it’ll give you performance, economy, and a break from the “left-leg day, every day” routine.

Look toward the bottom of the monroney, though, and you’ll get hit with sticker shock. Yes, you read that right: $53,160! With $13,000 (or so) in upgrades, you might be forgiven for thinking someone checked all the option boxes, but this is for things any enthusiast would get: the Performance Package, the trick MagneRide dampers from the GT350, the Safe and Smart Package (adaptive cruise control is totally worth it), and a handful of other options. Things add up quickly on the latest GT, but getting even more bang for your buck certainly makes it feel better.
