2018 Ford Mustang GT is Good Enough to Convert Import Lovers
Donut Media got a new Mustang for a week and found that the $40,000 pony car feels like a more expensive machine.
Donut Media is a relatively new automotive outlet, specializing in absurd and informative videos, like providing all of the important details of the Ford Mustang in just 11 minutes. That series of videos is called, “Everything You Need To Know.” And the YouTube channel has just started a new series called, “The New Car Show” and the first vehicle they review is the 2018 Ford Mustang GT.
The outlet got to pick the Mustang GT they drove for a week, opting for a gorgeous example in Kona Blue, with no spoiler, black wheels, and sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires. Because, as James Pumphrey puts it, “I like my tires like I like my peanut butter – super sticky and chunky AF.” Regardless of why the outlet chose its features, this GT is quite the looker, especially with the changes Ford made for the 2018 model year.
As an import lover, it didn’t take long for Pumphrey to see the light in the Mustang’s 5.0-liter V8 engine. “Let’s just say I don’t have a lot of V8 experience,” says Pumphrey. “Turns out, I freakin’ love V8s dude. They sound like a movie every time I put my foot in it, I felt like the Goss [Ryan Gosling] from “Drive.”’ The fact that the Mustang GT’s V8 makes 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque doesn’t hurt either.

One of the downsides to the Mustang, though, is its size. “It’s definitely a big car, though. And it took a little getting used to before I figured how much hood was in front of me,” said Pumphrey. “Let’s just say that parking garages were stressful.”
Still, there’s a lot more to like than dislike with the GT. The digital gauge cluster is Pumphrey’s favorite part of the pony car. Its MagneRide suspension system also impresses him, while the interior of the vehicle punches, according to Donut Media, well above its weight.
To get all of Donut Media’s thoughts, including some pretty funny jokes, on the new Mustang GT, give this video a look. We hope the outlet gets some more press cars and keeps “The New Car Show” going.
