A restoration — or in this case, a restomod — is a labor of love, an undertaking not for the faint of heart. It’s a long, expensive process, and for many, the fun ends when the build’s over.

For those that enjoy driving classic Mustangs more than they enjoy building them though, buying a finished restomod is just the ticket.

RK Motors Charlotte is offering exactly that, and all the details can be seen on their YouTube channel, packed to the gills with highly-polished videos with solid production values, as you can see in the example below.

This car started life as an S-code 1968 fastback GT, and was subjected to a full-rotisserie restoration. It looks great in Rangoon Red with black stripes that match the interior perfectly, and it looks fantastic on its American Racing Shelby Cobra wheels, which go nicely with the giant Carroll Shelby signature on the dashboard!

Under the hood, the stock V8 was swapped for a built 428 FE backed by a Tremec five speed, feeding power through a beefy Ford 9″ rear axle. If you were to build this car yourself, you’d be hard pressed to pick a better drivetrain for a classic Mustang.

To handle its newfound power, the rebuilt suspension was supplemented by upgraded sway bars and a power rack and pinion steering setup. “Whoa” is just as important as “go,” and the braking system was similarly upgraded with power assist and drilled rotors.
