‘House of Muscle’ Debuts With Mike Musto’s Mustang

Musto’s Mustang Makes Motorsport Muscular!

If you don’t know Mike Musto by now, you must have been sleeping on the muscle-car scene for the last decade.

Formerly of the YouTube show “Big Muscle,” Musto now has a new show called “House of Muscle” on Motor Trend‘s YouTube channel. This new show, from the looks of the first episode above, will be very similar to his old show, just for different bosses. Knowing what we know about Musto, his videos will fit right in with the rest of Motor Trend‘s content, and simply add to their pile of already excellent shows.

'House of Muscle' Debuts With Mike Musto's Mustang

Featured in this first episode is Cortex Racing’s 2013 Ford Mustang GT, built for Musto to hustle around the race track. With legendary circuits like Laguna Seca and Sonoma Raceway nearby, it’s hard to not feel the draw. While the 5.0 is no slouch in the forward-acceleration department, this car was built with lateral acceleration in mind. 315 section-width BF Goodrich Rival tires on all four corners give this GT the grip it desperately needs. And the SLA front suspension/Watts link rear suspension setup helps the car make excellent use of that grip.

When it comes to beating a few Porsches at the race track, at their own game you might say, you’ve got to have some pretty serious equipment. To do so for less than one fourth what a Porsche owner might spend, well, that’s just pure Mustang. It’s safe to say that Musto’s Ford here is a capable track machine.

The episode isn’t entirely about this Mustang, in fact it features Mike’s entire garage full of muscle machines. That includes his Dodge Charger, Turbocharged Pontiac Trans Am, Chevy Monte Carlo, and Dodge Charger Daytona replica. If you are only interested in the Mustang (we won’t blame you), you can fast forward to the 9:50 mark and watch from there.
