Wife Unit's 2003 Forester 5 spd bought in 2007 with 55K miles had damaged RF fender and hood and estimated $4400 repairs, I got it cheap as prior original owner had cancelled insurance two weeks before damage. I bought parts, farmed out paint, fixed for $2K and change, car has been absolutely faultless and is now at 98K and in Spring 14 will get new timing belts and good tune.
