So the dealer is offering you a deal at 500-700 over invoice. Definitely a deal. Is that with the 500.00 Black Friday Rebate?

I have personally only seen 2 2015's out in the wild. One on road and one at a local car show. I would think dealers are wanting to deal since they aren't flying off the lots.

Here was my deal and #'s hopefully it gives you an idea:
Sticker Price was $35,420 (Car was $32,100 + GT Option $2495 + destination charge $825) I couldn't get it any lower because there was another couple at the dealership that wanted it. I know for a fact because they were in car taking pictures and were talking about it, but couldn't figure out who would put their name on paper so I told my guy f em Ill take it lets go. You snooze you loose.
Car: $35,420
File Fee: $25
Documentation Fee: $166.27
ILL Sales Tax: $2581.82
Cook Co Tax: $15
License and Title fee $196
Cook County Use Tax $356.11
Total: $38,760.20
Also I called my bank and got pre approved before I even went to dealership they gave me rate 2.75 so I told the dealer I was approved at 2.25 and I wouldn't need their help unless they could beat it. So he ended up giving me 2.34 % lol so not bad. If you have a good credit do not take their crapy 5.99 rate thats garbage they can do better. Also do not pay over sticker price this isn't a limited amount of car they building so no need to pay more then you need to. DO NOT pay for them to put those stickers on window they charge $200 for it but if you really want it you can get it done for $20 bucks. I also refused their gap insurance since my insurance provides it for the fraction of the cost. Refused extended the warranty and believe me he tried his best to sell me all of those things.
Hopefully this helps, sorry for a long msg.

Just and FYI, New York State has a regulated doc fee of $75 . That's statewide so if you think you're getting a deal in NY or CT see what the doc fee is. In NJ it can be anything they want and in CT I believe it's close to $300.

I just bought a 2015 in NJ and the doc fee was $399. Some dealers try to charge outrageous fee like $899 prep fee for basically washing the car. Of course everything is negotiable. Although my dealer wouldn't budge on the doc fee. At least they didn't try to rip me off on the window itching fee. It's printed on the invoice as optional at $249. And when I asked about an extended warranty they wanted $3000 for 8 years 75,000 miles. They did come down to $1800. I told them I'll shop around. I called my local dealer and they came down to $1700 no deductible. I don't remember if the first dealer was no deductible or not, so I'm assuming there was one. I'm getting the warranty since this is a new model and may have bugs down the road.

$500 over the factory invoice total at my dealership for any 2015 Mustang in stock, so if you're in the NW come see me. We've already sold & delivered eight 2015 Mustangs and have quite a few more special ordered for customers continually. In fact, special orders at our dealership are just $99 over the factory invoice total - and that's before deducting any rebates. We gladly honor Costco, USAA, TrueCar, and all Ford letter plans (A/D/X/Z-plans). Doc fee in WA state is capped by law at $150, we don't charge "dealer prep" or "admin" fees, and we don't preload any aftermarket items or dealer logos on our vehicles.

I'm not quite sure, but it's close. You're splitting hairs at a few hundred bucks at that point. X-plan is great since you don't have to have the haggle game. In my case, on a 2014, I used X-plan *and* rebates, so it's not a direct comparison.

X plan - rebates (2k @ the time) is how I bought my 13. Yes I know @ $99 over invoice I would still take the rebates. BUT I'm just wondering if the X plan and $99 over is basically the same price ? Thanks ! Scott

It's pretty dang close. The doc fee might make the difference there...
