That and too much alcohol

By the way that's not a GT500, it's a 2012 GT/CS

It was 8 hours old and had exhaust on it already?? Something was up. Don't need to ask if it's totaled or not.....
it's a 2012 V6 with Performance package, i think

Nah, definitely GT/CS. Unless he was frontin'. You can barely make out the "California Special" around the faux gas cap and the GT on the spoke on the rims.

He apparently picked up the car the day before. As you can see, clear, sunny and dry. He was going on a slight curve, floored it with traction control off, rear got around, over corrected, broadside skid into practically the only tree around.

Five-0 humor, gotta love it. Truthfully some people shouldn't own these cars. They have no idea how to drive well enough to own a VW Beetle, let alone a car with the power of a Mustang GT. Glad the driver was OK. I don't think his insurance company will insure another Mustang for him.

Just like that guy who won the lottery a few days ago, bought a new '12 Boss and wrecked it in a residential neighborhood going around a corner, hit a fire hydrant and flipped it. He had his daughter in the car and is supposedly going to be charged for drunk driving. Gotta love stupid people.

Wow! Glad the driver is ok. That is one tough little tree though. Sad.

These Mustangs, Camaro's, and Challangers are allowing the 60's and early 70's to be re-lived all over again. I can recall walking around the boneyards in the early 70's, and seeing rows and rows of totaled Superbees, Mustangs, and Camaros. I just hope the insurance companies don't force these new hp cars out of the market once again due to those that can't drive them.

Let's not be too harsh on the driver of this car. We are all just one mistake (and a slight one at that) away from this happening to any of us.

A mistake would be choosing the wrong lane to avoid an accident, or hardly bumping the car in front of you at a light because you misjudged the distance to the car. Doing 80+ mph on a surface street is NOT a mistake - it's mental deficiency.

Maybe that's why the tree fared so well. It heard him coming and braced for impact.
