Boss 302 LS "Motor 4887"

I've been browsing cars.com and came across a nice looking 2013 Boss 302 LS with...blue stripes?? I have never seen this before. Also, what's up with the (correction) "Motor 4887" instead of "Boss 302" stripe? Seems like a **** good price for a slightly used Boss LS... makes me suspicious. I checked the vin and the window sticker is legit.

^ you SURE that's a real Boss? Not just a 5.0 with stickers?

If it is, yeah, that's different. I am not sure what's up with the Motor 4887.

Yeah, as far as I can tell it's the real deal... here's the listing:

I plugged the vin into the Ford Window Sticker generator and it's defiitely a Boss 302 LS.

Nice, that is a good price for a Laguna Seca. No clue what the Motor 4887 is all about.

Best I can find out with my google searching is that it's a one of a kind tribute to a fallen police officer who was killed in a motorcycle accident... But I could be wrong.

Yup... That's it. Just called the place. Sad story. The car belonged to the brother of the fallen officer. He put his badge number on the car.

That is a sad story. Here's the question: If you bought it, would you leave the stripe or put it back to stock?

I'd probably leave it. Part of what makes these cars these cars so special is the stories we have with them. If I bought the car, I'd leave it, and I have a the story of the officer framed to display at shows. Just as a reminder of what our emergency personnel risk for is.

Hey Z,

I am not sure, that's all the dealer would tell me. I wonder if he put the stripes on or if he knew someone at Ford because if you notice, the race track around the faux gas cap is blue... unless it was plasti-dipped.

I wish that I could swing a trade-in on this car but my GT/CS is probably worth only around 25-28k (if I'm lucky). Also, I would feel terrible about daily driving an LS. That is a weekend/show car in my opinion.

Anyway, it's a great deal for someone on here who may be interested.

I would also leave the car the way it is. Call me superstitious, but there's something not right about removing those decals.

I would leave it. In fact, they should've done the mirror caps and spoiler too. That bugs me more than modifying a Boss LS...
