14 GT/CS convertable exhaust

Hello all, I have read many posts on 14 exhaust updates but mostly on coupes. Had a Roush system on my 11vert and thought it sounded good but a tad loud and a bit poppy/droney. Looking for some advise on noise levels for a 14 vert.
Not opposed to doing the whole catback thing.

I have GT500 axlebacks on my '14 GT 'Vert. Nice throaty sound, not obnoxious, and sounds great top up, even better top down. It's a popular choice on the forum.

They seem to be a little pricey lately. This is the best I've seen. I got mine thru Late Model Resto last year for $280 and they're Ford Racing parts, not knockoffs. And yes, they're a direct swap. Check your rear valance though....it might be different on a CS.

Here's a vid of mine going through a tunnel on a cold day with the top down. All that noise you hear is the wind.

Hey 70,

Great question!

With a convertible, you definitely want to minimize drone but you definitely still want to sound great.

In my opinion, the Corsa Sport Axle-Back is the perfect happy medium! They sound great, are not overly loud, and do not drone!

You will love them, I run Corsa personally and would never change!

Let me know what you think, looking forward to hearing back.

The GT 500 mufflers are a direct bolt on for the 13-14 GT/CS, as long as you get the single outlet style. They sound good, but Corsa Extreme sound better, and with no drone issues. I had the Corsa Extreme on my '11 GT 'vert and currently have the GT 500's on my '14 GT/CS 'vert. I am about to replace the over axle pipes with GT500 OA to eliminate the resonators just to amp up the volume a bit.

REDBLITZ--You had to change out your rear valance to do that, didn't you? Is yours a GT or GT/CS?

You don't have to cut anything, but you do need to get the GT500 valence. I did this on mine. I have the Quads and love them. They are very quiet in neutral and idle, but loud when you are past 2k RPM.

You have to cut your bumper out to fit the valance for the quad tips, just purchase the mufflers and the valance, i wish americanmuscle.com had them because their customer service is second to none and i love to work with them. late model resto has them for 819.99 with the valance as a package. you then follow the instructions here, https://www.fordracingparts.com/down...230-MSVTCD.pdf and you are all set. If americanmuscle.com has added these i do strongly suggest you buy from them

You don't have to cut anything if you have a CS. The CS valence is different from a regular GT. You just pop out the stock valence and swap for the GT500. This is for 2013-14

Thanks for the advice, have listened to corsa/gt500 on you tube. They both sound great and the corsa, seem just a bit louder although haven't seen a comparison between the 2 on the same video. Wont change my CS valence as I like it. Have to say considering they sound similar I like the looks of the corsa tips. anybody heard the 2 side by side?

Redblitz..now you went and did it haha those pics look awesome and if it is a straight swap on my 14 GT/CS I like it. I Will call American muscle and see if they will package a gt500 valence and corsa quads (love the tips vs the gt500 mufflers). Gotta love forums as ideas come about you never thought of.

There's a lot of guys on here that have started with GT-500 exhaust and decided it was too quiet but with a convertible, you might decide it's right. Besides that option, the Corsas and Borla S-Types are the most popular on the board, and neither have any drone whatsoever. Stay away from Flowmaster and other, cheaper options. You get what you pay for with exhaust, and that's why Corsa/Borla are both $600+.
