Behavior with other members

Ok I didn;t think this needed to be said but apparently it does.
We are a community here on TMS. The idea is that anyone can join and have a friendly place to go to socialize and hang out. I think some are missing that bit. So here is a suggestion to all posters regarding the new guys and girls here.
Lately I've seen a rash of new members coming in and that is good. But we must all remember to treat them with respect and kindness.

So some basic rules and suggestions:
1. If a new member posts something that may have been covered then let them know in a civil manor and not belittle them.
DO say: Welcome to the board and thanks for posting. You may want to check this link out (insert link to topic here). We had some good discussions about this subject check it out and feel free to voice your opinion.

DO NOT say: we covered this already welcome to last week newb!

Granted this may not be verbatim but you get the idea. One is civil and points the new member in the correct direction and the other is just short and curt and in my opinion nasty.

2. Please remember we were all new at one time. Treat all members like you'd like to be treated.

3. If you have issues with a member...new or otherwise please PM a mod and they will address it.

4. Brush up on the forums rules: http://www.internetbrands.com/ib/ter...tangsource.com

and finally...

5. If a new member needs a hand finding thier way around, please show them around in a kind manor.

and finally....

6. WE DO NOT TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB!

Because of the behavior mentioned above we (the mods) have had to play damage control with the new people and personally apologize for the rudeness and ask them not to leave. Some have stayed and some have left.

The point is there is no reason to be mean.
The world is mean enough there is no reason to be like that here and we will be keeping an eye on this.

Thank you
The TMS staff
