With 750 turbocharged horsepower to the rear wheels, it was born for shredding tires and leaving its mark on the pavement.

Few things on the planet sound better than the flat-plane crank siren song of a Ford Voodoo V8. So, how do you go about improving on perfection? You add a pair of turbos and shove it into a ’67 Mustang fastback.

This fire-breathing, light blue and neon creation looks like a Hot Wheels car, or something out of an arcade-style racing game. It’s the real deal, though – the newest creation from from Drift HQ on YouTube. If you were in attendance at SEMA or PRI this year, you likely saw this Mustang at the Vibrant Performance booth. After all, it’s hard to miss. This video is our first time seeing it in action, and it positively rips.

First, some dyno tuning. This build was barely completed in time to throw it in a trailer and send it to Vegas for SEMA. With some tuning, the sweet spot seems to be 8.5 pounds of boost. That’s good for 750 horsepower at 8,000 RPM and 500 lb-ft of torque. In other words, more than enough juice on tap to turn a good set of tires into a pile of black dust.

The Sound and the Fury

That’s exactly what Adam LZ gets into on the shakedown run. Thanks to an anti-lag system, you’re treated to a plethora of audio-visual stimulation when this machine gets busy. Pops and bangs, flames and neon. It’s every kid’s dream whether they’re 8 years old or 48.

Of course, the fun and games has to stop at some point – Adam taps the wall and causes a little bit of damage to the right rear corner. I guess this wide and wild Mustang’s show car days are over. That’s fine by us – it’s a lot more exciting to see this thing in motion, anyway.

That’s especially true when the sun goes down. The visible flames serve as a compliment to the neon lights as the Mustang makes mincemeat out of its ultra-wide rubber. It may not be to everyone’s taste, but you can’t deny that it’s an unforgettable sight to see.
