The Stig… Er… Ben Collins to Drive New GT350R at Goodwood
For those that religiously watch — or rather used to watch — Top Gear, the name Ben Collins will be quite well known to you. For those that only watched the show a little, and perhaps didn’t get into all the greasy details, Ben Collins was once The Stig. Actually, he was The Stig from 2003 to 2010, when he was famously outed as the mysterious and often silent racing driver.
The trio of Top Gear hosts had a bit of an issue with the outing of The Stig, due to how Collins actually handled it. But nevertheless, Ben Collins is still The Stig at heart. And he isn’t content to just live it up in a Ford Fiesta on public roads. That’s why, for this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, Collins will be piloting the new Ford GT350R up Lord March’s hill climb.
Joining Collins will also be Ken Block, who is piloting both the new Ford Focus RS and his ridiculous 950 horsepower Hoonicorn that debuted in his latest Gymkhana video.
I personally can’t wait to see The Stig, I mean Ben Collins, hop back into a properly fast car and spank it on a track. But what about you? Are you all still mad at how he left the show?
